The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) will begin trading PTTE13CA, which is a derivative warrant (DW) having PTT Exploration and Production PCL (PTTEP) as its underlying asset, on November 5. This will be the third DW to list on Thai bourse, and was issued by KGI Securities (Thailand) PCL (KGI), revealed Chief Marketing Officer, Markets & Post-Trade Services Sopawadee Lertmanaschai.
PTTE13CA has a six-month maturity, ending in April 30, 2010. An investor holding ten units of PTTE13CA will have the right to buy one share of PTTEP. If the holder exercises that right, KGI will make cash settlement based on the share price of PTTEP and the exercise price, without stock delivery. KGI will also act as market maker for PTTE13CA.
PTTE13CA is the third DW issued by KGI to list on SET; the first was PTT13CA, based on PTT, started trading on July 9, 2009, and KBAN13CA having KBANK as the underlying asset, debuted on August 27, 2009. KGI had an initial public offering of PTTE13CA during October 19-30, 2009. This IPO received great attention from investors, with total sales of 25,695,800 units or approximately THB42.14 million.
“PTTE13CA is based on a stock with high liquidity and strong fundamentals. However, investors should study the conditions of PTTE13CA before making any investment decision,” since each DW has different details and conditions. Moreover, they should study the responsibilities of the market maker and number of units distributed to unit holders, which will be provided during the entire duration of this DW being listed”, added Ms. Sopawadee.
