ด้วยสมาพันธรัฐสวิสได้จัดการเลือกตั้งคณะมนตรี ประจำปี ๒๕๕๔ และนาง Eveline Widmer-Schlumpf ได้รับเลือกตั้งให้ดำรงตำแหน่งประธานาธิบดี และนาย Didier Burkhalter ได้รับการแต่งตั้งให้ดำรงตำแหน่งรัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงการต่างประเทศสมาพันธรัฐสวิส
ในการนี้ นางสาวยิ่งลักษณ์ ชินวัตร นายกรัฐมนตรี และนายสุรพงษ์ โตวิจักษณ์ชัยกุล รัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงการต่างประเทศ ได้มีข้อความสารแสดงความยินดีถึงประธานาธิบดี และรัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงการต่างประเทศสมาพันธรัฐสวิส ดังนี้
